@matigo I grew up with both systems but still find it difficult. And Japanese is now engraved on my mind in a combination of letters and very very few characters. For example:
Shibainu nga daisuki.
????? 犬 ?????? ?

@matigo ? The Japanese language is interesting. My younger sister is capable of using it like natives do. Wish I could speak it too. Difficult like hell, though.

@matigo by the way, lots of places in Canada have names that sound quite like Japanese: Toronto, Mississauga, Etobicoke, etc… I’ve found I have no problem putting them into Japanese syllable for syllable. ?
